LABOR'S CARBON TAX RISKS 10,000 HUNTER JOBS
Labor has changed. They're not the party you used to vote for. Don't vote for them.

Labor is pursuing a radical new climate policy that forces employers in the Hunter to buy so-called ‘carbon credits’.
Labor is using inner-city speak to describe its new carbon tax, calling it a “Safeguard Mechanism”.
Sites hit by this new carbon tax may need to sack workers and push up prices.
10,000 jobs are at risk from Labor’s carbon tax which will hit 17 coal mines and factories in the Hunter.
All local businesses and workers will be hurt by Labor’s new carbon tax because these major employers do business with so many others in our region.
In the Hunter, Labor is targeting:
Labor has identified the following sites that will be hit by its carbon tax:
The Hunter Labor candidate has claimed that “there will be no tax” and that “no, mines will not be taxed.”
But Dodgy Dan’s lies were exposed when Labor’s Climate Change spokesman, Chris Bowen, confirmed on national TV and radio that coal mines will have to pay for carbon credits.
Even long-term Hunter Labor MP, Joel Fitzgibbon, confirmed that Labor has plans to introduce a carbon tax.
“There is a thing called a safeguard mechanism which is a carbon constraint, or a carbon tax, whatever you might like to call it.”
– Joel Fitzgibbon, when asked about Labor’s policy. 2GB, 11/02/2022.
This is what senior coal industry leaders say about Labor’s Carbon Tax policy:
“The comments that have been made seem to indicate that the safeguard mechanism would be turned into a carbon tax.” – Paul Flynn, CEO, Whitehaven Coal
“[Labor MP’s] have been unable to state clearly whether or not they intend to levy taxes that will cripple the industry and cost regional jobs.” – Lucas Dow, CEO, Bravus (Adani)
There is a reason Labor MPs are so shifty on their carbon tax plans.
Labor’s Deputy Leader and Policy Chief Richard Marles – who was Acting Leader when Anthony Albanese had Covid – revealed that he thinks that the collapse of coal would be a “good thing”.
Labor’s plan is written in black-and-white. The frightening facts are hidden in their policy platform.
Once again Labor is preferencing the Greens in the Hunter region.
Labor has to adopt a carbon tax because it is a key demand of the Greens.
Labor has traded mining jobs for Greens votes.
Imagine how worse Labor’s Carbon Tax would be once they need to negotiate with the Greens in Parliament…
